The Wisconsin Avenue bridge remains the best traveled thoroughfare across the city. However, the Monastery's belligerent attitude toward Crawley and his men means that there is near daily skirmishes and gunfire exchanged between the Brothers Militant tasked with guarding the bridge, and Waltzers reminding them who is in charge.In response, the Brothers took and fortified the former Marquette University dorm that lay just on the other side of the bridge. It has become a jury-rigged castle, with piled dirt ramparts on the ground floor, and dedicated shooting platforms on floors that overlook the bridge and city. On the roof there is a watch post that can see for miles.
The Tower also serves as the headquarters of the Brothers Militant, and their Captain has his office and command center there, close to the heaviest action and greatest point of danger.
